My practice operates between outdoor and indoor modes of painting, structured around a relationship between control and exposure.
In the outdoor works, painting begins on location and is developed en plein air in direct collaboration with environmental conditions. Wind, rain, light, and climate act as co-creative forces, shaping the work beyond full authorial control. This approach extends the logic of Weather Dependent, where the elements are not represented but actively inscribed into the work through material contact and duration.
This process treats adaptation as a method of making, allowing the work to emerge through negotiation with forces that cannot be predetermined or repeated.
Indoors, the process shifts toward immediacy and restraint, using direct painting methods that avoid overworking in early stages to preserve clarity, responsiveness, and the integrity of decision within the image.

Not all works are shown.
Weather Dependent is an ongoing series developed through direct collaboration between artist and environment.
Each work is produced en plein air, where wind, rain, and sunlight act upon the material in real time, leaving physical traces shaped by specific and unrepeatable conditions. The works are then dried slowly indoors, allowing these elemental interactions to stabilize and become fixed within the surface.
The resulting works function as material records of duration, atmosphere, and site, where authorship is distributed between artist and environment, and each piece exists as a singular index of its making.

Composition is an ongoing exercise in my practice focused on the development of structure and form. The works investigate how painterly decisions build internal order through layering, balance, and spatial arrangement.
